The Quick Guide to Computers
Chapter 2- Computers Today
Since the days of the early computer, they have improved a bit. Screens, smaller sizes, and faster processing make up the computer of today. Today’s computer consists of a screen, a keyboard, and lots of wiring inside. All the wiring helps the computer process information and pass electricity. A screen is a transparent sheet that shows what the computer is showing.
These computers started to come about when the PDP-1 was released. It was one of the first computers with a screen. It looked like the computers you see today. It had a screen, and was small enough to fit on a desk! It also could use the screen to make graphic displays and animations.
“Hackers”, or programmers, helped make all the programs for computers. Back then, people still thought computers could only be expensive calculators. Hackers amazed them by creating many computer programs, from games to education tools to the internet! As the era of early computers faded, these new, modern machines came about. From the Mac to Microsoft computers, computers are as diverse as people are today.
