The First Time I Broke My Foot

I was in my bedroom jumping up and down on my comfortable carpet. I didn’t realize that I was so happy I slammed my right foot against my bed. I was crying so loud I accidentally woken up the neighbors. They were fine because they probably went back to sleep.
My mom came running upstairs to see what was going on. I could barely speak because I was still crying. Then I wiped away my tears and started telling my mom what happened. She told me, “Get a good rest and you are coming with me to my office.”
Then my dad came upstairs and was confused and worried. My mom told him what had happened to me and I’m coming with her to her office. My dad was not agreeing to this idea, but then he looked at me and then back at my mom.
He finally said that it was okay that I can come with her to her office, but then he said, “On one condition.” Then he was telling my mom that I should behave and be more careful.
When they were done talking, I went to my bedroom and tossed and turned in my bed. My mom came in and said, “Goodnight” to me and my sister Gabrielle. She kissed me and my sister’s forehead and left my room.
On a Monday morning, at 8:30, I woke up and got dressed. When I finished getting dressed, I went to the bathroom, did my hair, brushed my teeth, and then went downstairs to eat breakfast.
When I went downstairs to sit at the kitchen table, I saw my brother Michael and my sister Gabrielle sitting there too. My dad went to the cabinet to get my favorite cereal,”Chocolate Miniwheats.” I ate it really fast with milk and then  me and my mom went out the door.
My mom helped me down the stairs and opened the car door for me. The first stop was my mom’s doctor because she needed her medication. The next stop was to my mom’s office. As soon as we arrived we walked into the office and the place was empty because everyone was either at home or doing work somewhere else.
It was quiet and no one was at their chairs so I just sat down at a desk with a computer. I watched my mom turned her computer and then saw a cool website she was on with important stuff.
I opened the draw and I saw a pencils, pens, and a stapler. I took out the pen and I turned around to get paper and I started drawing. Then I got bored of drawing and I just played on my phone.
We were waiting for this guy who needed to finish his taxes so my mom could help him, but he was really late so we just home. We picked up my sister and brother and they came with us to “OSG.”
My mom opened her car door and mine. Then I hopped and  my sister, my brother ,and my mom walked inside. I was confused with my brother and sister because we had no idea where to go.
My mom pointed at a elevator and we all walked in, except me so I hopped inside the elevator. My mom pushed a button that went to the 2nd floor. When we were on the 2nd floor, we got out of the elevator and stayed in line, but actually my mom was the only one in line because me and my siblings went to sit down in the waiting chairs.
I was nervous and also in pain because I was thinking that they will give something even more painful or even worse, A CANE. I 100% DO NOT LIKE CANES!!!! But anyways, I was shivering in my seat feeling cold and hot at the same time.
The lady was ready for my mom and she gave my mom a clipboard with a form on it so she can sign it and ask questions about me. My mom was carrying the clipboard back to waiting area and sat next to me.
She asked me a few questions like “Which has pain?” or “Which foot did you break?” When I finished all the questions, My mom walked back up to the lady and then came back to her seat.
I was bored so I just played on her phone. Then 9 min later, a nurse called my name and we hopped and walked to a room she showed us. I saw a stool and I brought it over to the patient bed so I can get on it.
The nurse sat down on a chair and turned on her computer. She asked that if I’m allergic to anything or have a disease. Then she turned off her computer and left the room.
Seven min. later, two nurses opened the door and helped me off the bed because they needed to take x-rays of my foot. When we arrived to the x-ray room, they told me that to take my shoe off.
They had this scan operator they wanted me to stand on so they could get x-rays of the sides, bottom, and top. They also gave me this thing that goes around my chest so I can be protected.
When they were done with the x-rays, I put my shoe back on and hopped back to the room. I stepped on the stool and got back on the patient bed. The nurses said,”Bye” and then closed the door shut.
Six min later, the doctor came in. She said “Hello” to us and put on rubber, blue gloves to touch my foot. I told her that it was my right foot that had pain. She touch my foot in random spots.
Finally, she found the spot and then told me to squirm it around. It hurt so much when I was trying to twist it, but I wasn’t suppose to so, I just moved it back and forth.
Then she turned on the computer and went to my files to see the x-rays of my foot. My brother wasn’t suppose to see it, so I pushed him over so he wouldn’t see it.
Then she showed my mom the x-rays and the spot where it hurts and told her that my foot was BROKEN!!!!!! I couldn’t believe it!! I was about to faint, but luckily I didn’t.
Then when they were done with their conversation, they told me I needed a boot. I was like, “What in the world is a type of a boot that is a cast?” She told me that it was like a normal “Ugg”, except it has 5 straps.
She said, “What boot size are you?” I told her that I was a 3 in a boot. She asked a nurse to get the boot in size 3. The doctor was waiting in the hallway, until the nurse came out and gave her the boot.

The doctor came back in with the boot and showed me and my mom of what it looks like. I took off my right sneaker and tried the boot on. It felt kind of uncomfortable because it wasn’t broken out yet.
She told me to take a, “Test drive” which means walk around a little. She said that if it is uncomfortable, she would give me crutches or if it is comfortable, then just walk with the boot. I said that it wasn’t comfortable so I told her that I wanted the crutches. The lady looked at me so she can see how tall I am.
She went to the medical supplies room to see the crutches. She got one pair of crutches and lift it up a little higher so I won’t be uncomfortable. I rest my arms on the crutches and was thinking, “Does this look wrong?”
I look at the crutches and back at the doctor. I did it 9 times until I asked her that I need help. She came over to me and told me what to do. Then I realized what I did wrong and then I understood what she was saying.
When we were done with the boot, The lady printed out a gym note for me because I wasn’t allowed to run, jump, or play any sports. When she was done talking to us we said “Goodbye” and went outside to the car.
My mom took my crutches from me and I pulled the handle on the door and went inside. Since we droved away, I pulled the small T.V. down from the ceiling of the car, and was watching the movie, “Home.”
Soon as we got to our house, my mom opened the garage, closed the garage, and then got out of the car. My mom was the first one to walk in because she had to shut off the alarm. I knew she was done because, when I hear a small beep, it means she finish shutting off the alarm.
I took my crutches, walked in, went upstairs and walked into the kitchen. Then I walked into the living room and sat down. My dad came in and was like, “OMG what happened to you” at least what I think by the look on his face. He told me that he felt bad for me so he got “Moes” a mexican restaurant. I said, “Thanks dad!” He gave me my burrito and glass of water and I bite in my burrito and take a sip of my water.
I realized that I should be more careful and never end up like this ever again, but that night was crazy.
