Don't Eat Me!

I am pizza dough
I wonder what tiny pieces of pepperoni are doing on me?
I hear the pepperoni saying, “There is not enough room on me.’’
I see people putting me in the oven
I want to get out of here
I am now pepperoni pizza

I pretend I am still pizza dough
I feel my crusty crust
I touch the bottom of the pizza delivery box
I understand that I should be eaten even though I don’t want to be
I say, “Hopefully I will just go to waste.”

I dream that I’m surfing in trash
