THE DAY I GOT MY DOG

Nervousness flowed through my blood.  Today I was getting my first dog but also my first responsibility. I stepped into the car with speed. I was super excited to get my dog but not so excited of the responsibility. I knew
two months ago that when I got my dog that there would come        responsibility ,except that I wasn’t quite sure if I was ready for it.
I asked my mom, “ how long is the drive.”
She replied, “ two hours.” I let out a heavy sigh.
When we finally got there I ripped my seat belt off, opened the door,                   and sprinted out of the car.As soon as I saw him I knew he was perfect. When I was running up to him, my mom said something that stopped me in my tracks.
She said, “ let him smell your hand first so he knows your friendly.” I cautiously walked up to him and let him smell my hand. As soon as he smelt my hand he started licking me like crazy. I managed to get my dog to stop licking and ran to my mom. My mom was talking to the lady who brought my dog here.
I asked the lady, “ what kind of responsibilities come with owning a   dog.” I was dying to hear the answers. I thought in my head, “Hopefully these responsibilities won’t be so bad.” I was tapping my foot rapidly against the ground, anxious of hearing the answer.
She replied, “ You have to feed, walk it. As soon as I heard that you have to walk it, my heart stopped mid-beat. You have to walk it I said in a surprised tone. I almost felt like fainting. The lady said, “ Yes you have to do that and many other things too.
I thought in my head, “  I guess walking the dog will be hard but whatever I have to do to keep the dog in good condition, I will do. I guess after awhile I will get in the hang of doing it and it will be easy-peasy. Also they might not be so hard after all.”
I guess I was daydreaming a little too long because when I stopped we were driving home and I was in the car.
My mom asked me, “How do you like are dog. What do you think we should name him. His name is already cheesy. Do you have any other names for him or do you like that name. I said, “Great and I like that name. Meanwhile my dog was barking like a psycho-maniac. It was so loud it almost sounded louder than 5 elephants trumpeting at the same time.
My mom said that I am going to have to take good care of this dog and that the responsibilities are really important. You cannot forget about them. I replied back, “I know mother, I know."
