Because of Chase
Beep, beep, my alarm clock woke me up. “Ahh!” I screamed as I fell out of bed. “What happened,” I said, getting off the ground in a confusing voice.
I went to put my clothes on. Then I heard, “Erik,” and I knew Mom was calling me down for breakfast. I came racing down the stairs to eat, I ate as much as I could then I took a look at the clock. I was just about to miss the bus. I picked up my backpack and raced to the door but before I can yell goodbye my mom stopped me by saying it is Saturday. I froze in excitement because I was going to play on my computer all day long!
Then my excitement fell, I had forgot I was grounded. I went outside and sat in silence until I heard a “bark” sound, it had came from the bushes. I got nervous until a baby puppy popped out. I did not know what to do. I thought for a moment and I decided I was going to take him inside. I snuck him up into my room. I knew I could not hide it forever, I had to tell it to someone, I thought and I knew I could trust my brother Jack. He was like a brother that was my best friend and I knew I could count on him.
That day my Mom called me down. She said it was very important. She told me that my hockey team had made it to the states which was the biggest tournament. I was so excited but super nervous at the same time because last year the same thing happened and we lost. I had always liked to play hockey because that was the first sport my dad taught me. If I did not win this I would be very sad, and I may want to stop playing. My dad had loved to watch me play hockey and that would be bad if I had to stop playing. If I did stop playing I would always regret that decision. Over the past days I got more nervous and more nervous. I was just so scared I did not know what to do.
Then I went upstairs and looked in the mirror. I never really looked in the mirror. I just felt like doing it. Then I saw my short blond hair and my dark brown eyes. I had never wanted to look in the mirror but today was the day I did it. I worried more about the tournament then Chase. That next day we were about to leave to the state final game, I had forgot about CHASE! What was I going to do?
I hid Chase in my hockey bag and told Jack about Chase and I asked if he could go as far as possible from mom and dad. We had arrived at the tournament.
I was so excited but very nervous as I walked inside. I got my gear on walked toward the ice.
It was a long game, the score was 9 to 9 and we went to a shoot out. They took their first shot and they missed, my heart was beating so fast, I took a look at mom and dad. Then took a look at Chase and Jack cheering me on, then I took the puck and took my shot and it hit the post and went in. I felt so happy. I was like the best of all. My heart was pounding so hard until I scored I could see Jack and Chase so happy with joy as well as my team who carried my to the locker room.
I got myself undressed and went out the door, and when I got outside I saw Mom and Dad holding Chase with Jack. I said in a sad voice “I should have told you earlier.” But then my Mom and Dad said it was fine. I asked if I could keep him and then I saw a smile on my parents face and I knew that was a yes, and from that second on I knew I would not have scored unless I had Chase.
