So, let’s get started.
Why It All Started
“Fire” the word that started it all. In 1770 the colonists and British soldiers are in a fight. But many of them don't know where this fight will lead them later in the timeline of history. The reason the colonists were mad at the British soldiers is because the British soldiers were living in the colonists towns and cities, and many taxes have been introduced by the British. In addition to all that the British soldiers have also been taking jobs away from the colonists. So that meant the colonists had to work for low pay in there spare time. Which made the colonists very mad at the British soldiers. As a consequence to the British soldiers the colonists showed their hatred to the them by calling them insulting names like Lobster Backs because of their red coats. However, the British soldiers were also mad because they were far away from home, and fighting with the colonists only made it harder.
The Actual Event
There was tension between the colonists and British soldiers for six years. Then one cold night on March 5, 1770 a group of British soldiers were patrolling the streets of Boston. Then… suddenly out of nowhere a
large group of angry colonists about 50 to 60 of them started calling the British solider insulting name like “Lobster Backs” and “Red coats” , the colonists were also throwing snowballs and chunks of ice at the soldiers. After a while the soldiers were getting annoyed and mad at the colonists for treating them so harshly. The soldiers captain was trying to keep the soldiers calm. Then suddenly the most disastrous thing happened….. A soldier claimed he heard “Fire” within a few seconds five colonists were lying dead on the streets of Boston.

After The Disaster
After the Boston Massacre things were very depressing. Thirteen people were arrested! They were charged with murder. They were Eight British
soldiers, one officer, and four civilians. They were but in jail while waiting for their trial. The trial was very serious and depressing. John Adams was a patriot but, he decided to be the lawyer for the British soldiers because he thought it was unfair and that the soldiers deserved a fair trial. One of the things Adams argued was, that the soldiers had the right to defend themselves. Six of the soldiers were found not-guilty. But two of the soldiers were found guilty of manslaughter. The Boston Massacre was very big as you can see. It was one of the main events that started the Revolutionary war. The Boston Massacre then later in the timeline of the Revolutionary War caused the Boston Tea Party. The colonists and British soldier were still fighting.
