Studies show that people that eat candy live longer than those who don’t. Hershey and Mars should keep on making their candies because they have health benefits, they are popular, and their companies make a lot of money.
One reason Mars and Hershey companies should keep on making their candies as is because they have health benefits. For example, a shot of sugar can restore your willpower. This means that if someone is tired and down can they could eat a candy bar and be more energetic. According to “The Superpowers of Candy, “A few pieces of candy corn might keep you on track.” I can relate to this because my Mom gets me Reese’s peanut butter cups before soccer. Also, eating dark chocolate decreases the percentage of a heart attack by 39%. Isn’t that fascinating? In addition, peppermint helps you focus. Cocoa slows down cancer. Since cancer is all around the country, maybe people that are diagnosed should eat more cocoa.
Another reason Mars and Hershey companies should keep on making their candies as is because they are really popular. For example, Reese's is the most popular Halloween candy. This shows that Hershey makes a lot of money each year. Last year 12.6 billion dollars were spent on chocolate. This proves that chocolate is very popular. M&Ms are the second most popular Halloween candy. This shows that Mars makes a bit of money too. Lastly, by 1956 M+Ms were the most popular candy in the U.S. This shows the growth of M+Ms.
The last reason Mars and Hershey companies should keep making their candies is that their companies make lots of money. 12.6 billion dollars were spent on chocolate last year. This proves that Hershey’s employees make quite a bit of money each year. More than 34,000 people are employed because of the candy industry. This shows that a lot of people get jobs from candy making companies. Lots of people depend on chocolate companies, like Hershey, for money. This shows the power that these companies possess.
Hershey and Mars should keep on making their candies because they are popular, they have health benefits, and their companies make a lot of money. For example, some people say that cocoa is bad for you, but it helps with a few health problems like cancer and memory loss. This fifth grader feels that if people eat more of certain candies they can possibly prevent or help life changing illnesses like memory loss. The evidence is clear: Mars and Hershey should absolutely keep their candies.
