He died on August 29, 2016 in Stamford, Connecticut. He was listening to one of his favorite songs “Over the Rainbow”, by Ella Fitzgerald when he died. Laura wrote the “Little House on the Prairie” series which was about her childhood as a settler and pioneer. When she was 15, she became a school teacher. She taught 3 terms in one room schools. She married Almanzo Wilder on August 25, 1885. In autumn of 1956 she was really ill due to undiagnosed diabetes and cardiac issues. Later in 1957 on February 10, three days after her 90th birthday she died in her sleep. Laura Ingalls Wilder was a very big influence to kids all over the world.
